The Lancia HPE had been around since the mid 70's but I only remember it in it's revamped form of the early 80's. By then they had dropped the Beta name due to it's association with atrocious Lancia rust. Consequently any Lancia is a rare sight in the uk today but there are numerous survivors in sunnier climes. Hence the HPE we have on offer is an import from South Africa.
Lancia originally marketed the HPE (High Performance Estate) as an Estate, Saloon & Coupe rolled into one. Certainly when you're close up to an HPE it is surprising what a big car it is. This import has a very sound body, just a couple of small patches needed on the sills. The engine is presently out of the car but the previous owner assured me that it's mechanical condition is fine.
So create yourself a rare eye catcher with this easy restoration project. A practical classic if ever there was one.
