The 4 door Mk1 Escort is something of a rarity these days, so often overshadowed by the popularity of the 2 door model. Of course there are many remanufactured parts for the Mk1 these days which you can really capitalise on for a project like this.
Being a South African Import, the bodyshell is very sound and should present as an easy restoration. Mechanically, the car is a blank canvass as the original engine is removed allowing perhaps for the fitting of something a bit more spicy - perhaps a Zetec in order to create a real wolf in sheep's clothing. For those wishing to revert to originality, an 1100 or 1300 Crossflow can be included in the sale.
