An increasingly rare opportunity to acquire this Sporting Fast Ford.
A recent import from South Africa (so right-hand drive) - the car was purchased as allegedly a GT but due to dubious provenance I consider it would be difficult to get our DVLA to recognise it as such. Instead, you may have to be content with it registered as a basic Escort 2 door with an age related âKâ registration.
The vehicle has a surprisingly sound shell given it's shabby external appearance. Most of the rust is just surface but it will need a roof skin as it is thin and even perforated in a couple of places. Many of the other critical areas of the car though, appear good. They include the gutters, rear quarters, inner wings & bulkhead. The bonnet seems to be a much more recent replacement panel.
The car is supplied with a UK sourced Burtons tuned 1300 Crossflow engine with correct 4 speed box. These are separate from the car and (may) require overhaul prior to fitting. Also included is a replacement 6 dial dash pod with the speedo calibrated in MPH to replace the SA km unit.
