I was always rather entertained by the Humber Sceptre Mk2. It had a relatively short production run before being replaced by Arrow range version of the Sceptre.
It had a snappier, more sporting look than the fussy but beautiful Mk1 and looked like a Hillman Superminx with O levels which of course is what it was. Still retaining that well stocked “Aircraft” style dashboard of the Mk1, it makes for a very attractive classic both inside & out.
The example here is a right-hand drive South African import and apart from surface rust as you can see in the photos, it makes for a straightforward project free of any major welding requirement. The correct 1725cc engine with alloy head is now removed for inspection prior to re-fitting. The manual overdrive gearbox is still in the vehicle.
Supplied with Nova document which is the first step to DVLA registration with an age related plate.
